A team of engineers devoted to building the most advanced 4WD chassis and suspension systems for classic trucks
Patriot Chassis is a small production shop nestled in the mountains of Northern Idaho. We're not a mass manufacturer — we're a team of engineers and fabricators who share an obsession with classic 4x4 trucks and modern suspension technology.
Every chassis that leaves our shop is built with purpose: to give iconic trucks like the 47-55 Chevy, 58-61 Apache, 67-72 Chevy/GMC, 73-87 Chevy, K5 Blazer, 67-73 Ford, 73-79 Ford, 65-77 Bronco, 78-96 Bronco, and D-Series Power Wagon the performance platform they deserve. We use American-sourced steel, precision CNC machining, and hand-welded craftsmanship to create chassis systems that are as reliable as they are capable.
Our team brings more than four decades of combined experience in chassis design, suspension geometry, and off-road fabrication — from desert racing to daily-driven restomods.
Patriot Chassis didn't start in a corporate boardroom — it started in the dirt. Our suspension geometry draws directly from Ultra4 desert racing, where components are pushed to their absolute limits across brutal terrain at speed. That racing DNA is baked into every chassis we build. When we say our triangulated 4-link rear minimizes roll steer, or that our IFS delivers 16 inches of usable wheel travel, those aren't marketing numbers. They're hard-won engineering specifications proven under the harshest conditions imaginable.
This is chassis engineering for trucks that were built before crumple zones and air bags — trucks that deserve a modern foundation without losing the soul that makes them worth restoring in the first place.
We don't believe in good enough. Our patent-pending Patriot Air Shock technology is a perfect example — when nothing on the market met our standards for adjustable suspension on heavy 4x4 builds, we engineered our own from scratch using 7075-T6 billet aluminum and a design that delivers infinite tunability from coil-like to leaf-like force curves. That commitment to solving real problems drives everything we do.
New truck platforms are added regularly as we expand coverage. We currently engineer chassis for the 47-55 Chevy, 58-61 Chevy Apache, 67-72 Chevy/GMC C/K Series, 73-87 Chevy trucks, the K5 Blazer and Jimmy through our Independence Series, 67-73 and 73-79 Ford trucks, 65-77 and 78-96 Ford Bronco, and the Dodge Power Wagon D-Series through our Type D platform — and many more. Each receives purpose-built geometry — not a one-size-fits-all adaptation.
Our shop sits at 24 Emerald Industrial Park Road in Ponderay, Idaho — surrounded by mountains, forests, and some of the best off-road terrain in the country. It's the kind of place where you can test a freshly built chassis on a logging road during lunch break. Every chassis, suspension component, and air shock we sell is designed, machined, welded, and assembled right here.
Inside our facility, we run CNC laser cutting for precision steel plate work, press brakes for repeatable forming, TIG and MIG welding stations, a dedicated fixture table for jig-based assembly, and full powder coating capabilities. We keep material in house — DOM tubing, HREW steel, 7075-T6 billet aluminum — so builds don't stall waiting on supply chains. When you buy a Patriot Chassis product, it was made in America by Americans, start to finish.
Most chassis companies focus on 2WD hot rods and pro-touring street cars. We don't. We build for the 4x4 community — trucks that need to perform on the trail, the highway, and everywhere in between.
We believe in doing things right — not fast. Every weld inspected, every component tested, every chassis built to last generations. We're not interested in cutting corners or mass-producing mediocre products.
Our chassis systems are engineered to unlock the most performance from your classic truck — whether you're building a show truck, a trail rig, or a daily driver that can handle anything you throw at it.
